Collinson Tensile specialises in the design and construction of high-performance tension fabric structures for sports and industrial use. Operating across the UK and Ireland from our Lancashire head quarters, we proudly represent Best-Hall, Finland—renowned for their innovative and durable tension membrane structures. With over 5,000 steel tension structures supplied globally since 1975, we ensure reliable, world-class solutions tailored to your needs.
Collinson has been delivering premium tensile fabric building projects for clients across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland since 2003.
Our tensile buildings thrive in the harshest environments, such as Shetland. We have buildings in city centres through to rural landscapes, meeting the diverse needs of industries such as warehousing, bulk commodity storage, waste management, ports and aviation.
We’re proud to have built steel-framed tensile structures for a diverse range of sports including premier league football clubs, premiership rugby clubs, universities, colleges and schools.
Our highly experienced team who have all been with our company throughout our 20+ years working in the fabric building sector enables us to undertake all elements of the design & construction process in-house. By combining cutting-edge fabric tension structure design with precision-engineered steel frames, we deliver robust solutions that stand the test of time. Whether it’s for a Premier League football club or a heavy-duty industrial application, our tension fabric structures offer unmatched durability, sustainability, and flexibility.
Let’s build something great together.
Our membrane tension system ensures the tensile fabric covering on your building will remain drum skin tight for decades to come. Unlike most other solutions we do not use tension wires, ropes or keder systems which typically become slack over time resulting in movement of the membrane and therefore damage and excessive wear occurs shortening the life of the building covering and adding to maintenance requirements. Ask our team for details.
Our expertise in tensile buildings combined with the prefabricated off-site design and manufacturing we use means we can create high quality industrial & sports spaces that are efficiently installed, simple to maintain, and allow you to maximise the space you have available.
As the exclusive UK distributor for Best-Hall tensile buildings, based in Finland, we use tried and trusted tensile building design technology to create safe, reliable, and world-class industrial, sports, and leisure spaces whilst still delivering good value.
At Collinson Tensile, our tension fabric structures are designed to combine efficiency, strength, and aesthetics. Here’s why they’re the ideal choice:
Durability: Engineered to withstand extreme weather conditions, including high winds and snow loads.
Sustainability: Fabric membranes reduce material usage and maximise natural light, cutting energy costs.
Versatility: Perfect for sports facilities, industrial storage, and commercial applications.
Customisable Designs: From fully enclosed buildings to open canopies, our solutions adapt to your specific needs.
With a reputation for delivering exceptional tensile fabric roof structures, our team ensures every project exceeds expectations.

I did all the research into various options (7No companies I recall in total, including inflatables (air domes - which I stressed to the club was not the answer) After visiting several projects done by Collinson and another supplier, my preference was the Collinson system. In terms of size, and having seen both Collinson projects at Bristol Bears and University of South Wales it was obvious to me that a full size pitch over a half or ¾ had to be the decision. On this I was 100 percent right. Cost wise Collinson were more expensive than the other supplier, however I made several calls to a number of other clubs and their project managers, the recommendations was Collinson and your system. I advised the club to proceed with yourselves. If I were to do another project, the answer would be the same, Collinson.
