We are currently on site building a state-of-the-art indoor training facility, featuring a full-size 3G training pitch, at the club’s Academy in Beckenham following its elevation to Category 1 status.
To mark our partnership with the club, we’ve made a substantial donation to its Palace for Life Foundation to support the reopening of The Palace Kitchen.
The club’s chefs are preparing around 350 meals a day, four days a week, throughout December with a commitment to create more than 5,000 meals before Christmas.
Robert Duxbury, our managing director, comments: “We have a long and proud tradition of supporting our communities, both on our own doorstep in the North West, and in the areas around the UK where our construction projects take us.
“When we heard about the Palace Kitchen project and the difference it makes to people we were blown away. It inspired us to make our own donation which will contribute towards the running costs of this valuable campaign.”
Club Chairman Steve Parish adds: “We’re incredibly proud of all the staff who delivered the Palace Kitchen project which started during the first lockdown and delivered 16,500 meals to make life a little easier for people in real need.
“As we continue navigating the pandemic in the run up to Christmas, we decided to relaunch the project. Generous donations like the one provided by Collinson Tensilewill help us maximise our support for our community at what is a very difficult time for many people.”
Crystal Palace works with Croydon Council, City Harvest and Croydon Voluntary Action to identify vulnerable individuals and families in the greatest need of support.
It has committed to covering the project’s costs in December, including purchasing fresh ingredients, staff, costs of preparing the nutritious meals, safe packaging and labelling.
Anyone wishing to donate to the project, can do so via the Palace Kitchen Just Giving page.
